Heavy rains that hit the Cuban capital during the afternoon caused the total collapse of a house on the Avenue Vía Blanca, corner Chaple, in the municipality of Cerro . None of the two residents – a mother and her son – were in the house, so the unfortunate event did not cause any injury or death.
"Thank God, I was not there, I was at my godmother's house", the owner of the property, Marina Castro Morales, told Cubadebate. "All was lost," said the woman, shot by the tragic event.
According to the neighbors, several ambulances, members of the fire department and the Revolutionary National Police, came to the place, who checked that no one was injured. ] Dianeysi Hernández Hernández, 66th district delegate, who owns the landslide, says that nothing like this has ever happened in this region. "First time that he pbades in this district" he says.
"It was for now, with the rain," he explained the possible causes of the disaster that had just occurred.
"Deputies are here from the local government, are representatives of land use planning and housing, at which time we are going to look at badignments, so we can accommodate them or autoalbergar ", said about the procedure for cases like this.
Apparently, the promontory of the land on which the house was built suffered a landslide that caused the fall of the masonry construction.
