Jazz, rumba and urban music at the opening of the Josone Varadero Festival

Havana, July 12 (PL) Jazz, rumba and urban music mark the beginning of the Josone Varadero Jazz & Salsa Festival today, which will take place at the famous Cuban spa until July 15th.

Renowned foreign and national artists appear on the poster of the event that begins at 9:30 pm local time, with a concert by young Cuban jazz musician Alejandro Falcón

They are followed by the legendary rupee group Los Muñequitos de Matanzas, the Banda XX project, directed by percussionist Yisi García, and the famous American trumpeter Nicholas Payton, a strong jazz player.

The closing of the day will be dedicated to the well-known Cuban urban music duo Gente de Zona, which has a recognized track record in the genre, setting standards worldwide through its work with some of the most important artists in the world. other sound environments such as Marc Anthony and Italian Laura Paussini, among others.

Based in the most important tourist center of Cuba, the Josone Varadero Festival Jazz & Salsa offers for the following days of its calendar the performances of the salsa singer Gilberto Santa Rosa and José Alberto 'El Canario', and the Salvadoran Álvaro Torres.

Also on the bill are locals Isaac Delgado and his orchestra, Septeto Santiaguero, pianists Ernán Lopez-Nussa and "Cucurucho" Valdés, percussionist Horacio "El Negro" Hernández, conjunto rumberos Osaín del Monte and Rumbatá, and the singer Daymé Arocena, considered a revelation of jazz from the island, among others.
