LinkedIn announced Monday the arrival of the application LinkedIn Lite in Spanish .
Created in 2017, this new version was developed for markets where broadband remains a challenge. Currently, the social network has more than 12 million registered users in Mexico.
The company reported that this version is faster and lighter than the original version in addition to including key features of LinkedIn as a news feed, profile , connections, messages and search for job offers
The Android application occupies less than 1 MB on the smartphone or tablet which means a reduction in space of up to 80%. This allows users to continue to interact on the network and search for vacancies in areas of low connectivity or in situations where the device has a low internal memory. In addition, the application starts up to five times faster, regardless of the smartphone or network to which the user is connected.
By a statement, the company reported that in July, 78% of accesses to LinkedIn in Mexico were made via mobile devices. Among them, 43% correspond to devices equipped with the Android operating system and 56% of iOS.
LinkedIn Lite is now available for Android only and can be downloaded from the Play Store . The service is now available in more than 60 countries and has just been launched in the Spanish version for 19 countries in Latin America ( Mexico Belize, Argentina, Colombia , Brazil, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Peru and Venezuela).
