The former President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, was acquitted of one of the judicial proceedings he faces. This is the case for obstruction of justice, for allegedly acting to prevent or alter the denunciation of the former director of the semi-public Petrobras, Néstor Cerveró.

The sentence of innocence was pronounced by Judge Ricardo Leite of the Tenth Federal Court of Brasilia. This accusation against Lula was based on the statement of former Senator Delcídio do Amaral, who said he had tried to bribe a witness in an investigation at the express request of the exmandatario. However, Brazilian justice acknowledged that there was no evidence to justify this case.

With this recognition of the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Justice of Brazil, only the sentence of the judge Sérgio Moro against the case of Tripúx de Guarujá remains for Lula, for which he has been detained for more than 90 days.

Lula's defense insists that the lawsuits against Lula are a persecution to try to prevent the return of the exmandatario to the presidency.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Workers' Party (PT) has ratified, from prison, that he has he does not abandon his aspirations to reach the presidency of Brazil, in anticipation of the elections that will take place in October. He ensures that he intends to restore national sovereignty and dignity.

Despite his imprisonment, Lula appears as the favorite candidate to govern the country, with a large advantage over the other candidates.
