An error in New York Red Bulls' defense gave New York City FC the win in the second Hudson's Derby of 2018.
Maxi Morlez took the lead winning goal after a mistake at the start between Tyler Adams and Aaron Long. It was a tactical game from start to finish which was the start in the clbadics for new coaches Domenec Torrent and Chris Armas.
The first time was forgotten in the history of rivalry. The process was physical, with little clarity from shipowners Maxi Morlez and Kaku.
NYCFC abandoned its possession game in exchange for long balls to surprise the Red Bulls. The visit was limited to force the error of places.
A Kaku shot by Sean Johnson was the clearest choice of the first half.
Red Bulls was more proactive in the second half, but the procedure changed little as spaces continued to be reduced for both teams.
In the middle of this scenario occurred the error between Adams and Long, which NYCFC took advantage to score when Morlez was left alone against Luis Robles after Jonathan Lewis.
The series is now tied for points, waiting for a third derby on August 22nd.
