UN Secretary General António Guterres, strongly condemned today the recent terrorist attacks of Pakistan against political rallies and candidates, which caused 132 dead and some 140 wounded .
Guterres offered his condolences to the families of the victims, the Government and people of Pakistan notes a statement by deputy spokesman General Secretary Farhan Haq.
"The United Nations expresses its solidarity and supports the efforts of the Government of Pakistan in its fight against terrorism," the statement said.
Pakistan experienced two attacks, in the last 24 hours against political rallies, at a time when there were less than two weeks before the general elections in the country.

Another bombing took place during an election act in the city of Bannu in the northeastern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which left four dead and 19 wounded. The target of the attack was former minister Akram Durrani, who was not injured.
