Havana, May 11 – The new World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines ensure that children who are less than 5 years old must spend less time sitting in front of screens or subjects sitting in carts and chairs, sleeping better and having more time to play actively.

Achieving health for all means doing one's best for health early in people's livessaid the director general of this organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Dr. Fiona Bull, Director of the WHO Population and Noncommunicable Disease Prevention Program, emphasized that increasing physical activity, reducing sedentary lifestyles and ensuring quality sleep for children would improve their health and their physical and mental well-being.

He pointed out that this would also help prevent childhood obesity and related illnesses later in life.
