This year marks 50 years of the celebration of this folk festival of Cobán Alta Verapaz. The election and coronation of Queen Rab in Ajaw 2018-2019 will be held this Saturday, July 21st. It is estimated that 130 candidates from the four cardinal points of the country will participate. This festival was declared intangible cultural heritage of the Nation by the Ministry of Culture and Sports in 2010, in accordance with the Ministerial Agreement 532 – 2010.
