Havana, 9 Jul (RHC) Over 80 members of the 48th edition of the José Martí European Brigade arrived in Cuba as a manifestation of friendship between the peoples of this continent and the Caribbean nation.

The contingent consists mainly of young women and men from 20 countries incorporated in the International Camp Julio Antonio Mella. from the province of Artemisa where they will carry out agricultural work, they will share with the working collective of the center and will receive lectures on the social, economic, cultural and tourist activities currently in the country.

Fernando Gonzalez Hero of the Republic of Cuba and President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples received the contingent, composed of friends from Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, United Kingdom, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden and Belgium.

Fernando explained to the brigadists the program of activities during his stay on Cuban territory through visits to socio-cultural and historical centers and underlined the relations that the contingent will have with the population and the representatives of the organizations and institutions of the country.

The hero of the Republic of Cuba meant that most of them are young people who will know the Cuban reality and can then pbad on their experiences and impressions to other parts of the world. "It is important for young people to get to know Cuba and then spread the truth about a nation committed to the well-being of its people and who will continue in its socialist option," he said.

José Martí Havana and other provinces, social and historical institutions and will attend the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the badault of the Moncada Barracks and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes in Santiago de Cuba the beginning of the Revolutionary liberation war of the country led by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.

The brigadists will participate in agricultural work, listen to lectures and visit places of historical and social interest, among them in the provinces of Santiago de Cuba and Santi Spíritus.

In Santiago de Cuba, they will visit the Moncada barracks and attend the popular rally on July 26, the day of the national rebellion.
