Havana, Jul 23 (RHC) Cuban singer-songwriter Liuba María Hevia prepares a national tour after receiving the Raúl Gómez García Medal and recognition from the Ministry of Culture about his 35 years of life Artistic
The new Cuban Minister of Culture, Alpidio Alonso, took the stage of the National Theater on the eve of the recognition of the singer and composer for his valuable contribution to contemporary music, reports Prensa Latina .
A few seconds later, Hevia received the medal awarded by the National Union of Cultural Workers in honor of his results in artistic performance both inside and outside the country.
The maximum representatives of the Hermanos Saiz Association, the Cuban Institute of Music, the National Center for Concert Music and the United Nations Fund for Children, Unicef, Cuba , also equal to Hevia at the end of a memorable concert
The show featured some of the works of the singer-songwriter in symphonic format thanks to the arrangements of Beatriz Corona, Wilma Alba, Daniel Torres Corona and Guajiro Miranda.
Accompanied by his own instrumentalists and the National Symphony Orchestra (OSN) in its entirety, Hevia reveled in genres such as peasant music – which marks his first works -, the troubadour song, the tango and the children's song.
Among the guests of the concert are the young singer Annie Garcés, Enid Rosales in the three, Loania Carrillo on bbad, Alejandro Aguiar on percussion, Roxana Iglesias on violin, Isabel Paula García on cello and dancer Pepe Hevia who, in addition of dance, collaborated with choirs on certain themes.
The National Children's Choir, the Solfa and Olas choirs of the Schola Cantorum Coralina, the Cantoría Fábrica de Arte Cubano, as well as the Leo Vocal Chamber Choir
The show in this capital was the first in a series who will play Hevia in September and October with symphony orchestras from various provinces of the island.
The already confirmed scripts are located in Santiago de Cuba (September 12, Sala Dolores), Holguín (September 16, Teatro Guiñol), Camagüey (September 22, Teatro Principal), Villa Clara (September 28, Teatro La Caridad) and Matanzas (October 13, Sala José White)
In each of these provinces, the corresponding symphonic formations are already studying the scores in order to accompany the singer who, nevertheless, still contributes his guitar.
For Hevia, it's a form to pay tribute to his teachers, to parents and friends who encourage him to grow up, to dare a little more in music, a manifestation of his way of life.
