The Italian actor and director Roberto Benigni was the victim of an incident at sea during his holidays in La Maddalena, on the island of Sardinia, and had to be hospitalized.

The actor and the Oscar fell into a small boat on Tuesday while he was on a family trip between La Maddalena and Palau. An unexpected wave caused a sudden movement in the ship in which Benigni was traveling, which fell violently and hit his back.
His sailing companions immediately went to Palau and took the actor to the "Santissima Annunziata" hospital in Sbadari. Hospital sources said that Benigni, with severe lower back pain, will be elevated in the coming hours
