Scott Pruitt, director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is the latest member of the Trump administration to be criticized in public.

A woman confronted him at a Washington DC restaurant on Monday and asked him to resign.

"We deserve to have someone who really protects the environment," Kristin Mink told her in a video that she shared on Facebook. "I urge you to resign before your scandals come out."

"It's my son, he loves animals, air and drinking water," said Mink, carrying his son.

Mink says in the video that Pruitt did not answer and left the restaurant with the man who accompanied him.

Pruitt has been the target of scandals since he took the leadership of the EPA in 2017. The New York Times reported In June, Ethics Counselor Kevin Minoli asked Pruitt to investigate renting a condo in Capitol Hill, Washington. He has also been criticized for the high travel costs to the detriment of taxpayers and for his comments on the environment, such as not believing that carbon dioxide is a primary contributor to global warming, a statement contrary to the consensus of leading scientists and their own agency.

He is not the first member of the Trump government to be confronted in public. A Virginia restaurant refused to serve White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders for working for the Trump administration. In addition, a group of protesters from Metro DC Democratic Socialists of America shouted the dinner of National Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen in a Mexican restaurant.

For her part, California MP Maxine Waters encouraged her base to voice her displeasure aloud if she was on the street with members of the current administration.

"If you see someone from the Cabinet in a restaurant, in a shop, in a gas station, you have to throw them away," the legislator launched at a ceremony in Los Angeles the month latest. This action angered President Trump, who warned that he should pay attention to what he wants.
