Rome, July 31 (Prensa Latina) Italy's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rose 0.2% in the second quarter of this year compared with the same period, reported today. the National Institute of Statistics (Istat).
According to the preliminary estimate published by the official entity, the annual increase was 1.1%, while the change in GDP acquired for 2018 is 0.9%.

The April, May and June figure is the lowest recorded in a year and a half following a slowdown in the economy, and although GDP has increased for 16 quarters, its growth level remains very far from the 0.7% achieved in the second quarter of 2011.

The estimate of the Istat coincides with the downward revisions of the growth forecasts of the Italian economy for this year made in recent weeks by national institutions and foreign currency, including the International Monetary Fund, which has reduced its estimate from 1.5 to 1.2 percent.
