The Ballet Nacional de Cuba takes another literary classic: La Cenicienta

The season will be held at the Gran Teatro La Habana Alicia Alonso, 19, 20, 21 and 22 July, choreographed by Cuban Pedro Consuegra. was inspired by Perrault's namesake tale to compose a dance version of Cinderella in two acts and four scenes, with music by Johann Strauss (son) and drawings by Armin Heinemann.

The play was premiered in 1996 in this capital city with excellent public reception and critics, and as a culmination of next season, the company announces the debut in the main roles of young dancers, who will share the stage with the already consecrated ones.

Grettel Morejón, Rafael Quenedit and Bárbara Fabelo molding the first function; Ginett Moncho, Adrián Sánchez and Chavela Riera take second place; while Chanell Cabrera and Yankiel Vázquez will play the third role; and Viengsay Valdés, Dani Hernández and Claudia García will close the sets.

Next to Greta, Gustavo and Fairy Rava appear Léontine, madrasta, in the role of which they will alternate Ernesto Díaz and Yansiel Pujada.

According to North American journalist Lewis Segal of Los Angeles Time, Cuba's Cinderella National Ballet becomes a version in which the character and spirit remain subordinate to the clbadic narrative.

Meanwhile, the Spanish critic Julio Bravo of the ABC newspaper highlighted the funny epilogue presented by Consuegra in the style of the great clbadical ballets and a step towards two bold, brilliant and elaborate finales.
