The Cuba Fire Festival honors Puerto Rico

Havana, Cuba. – The streets of the city of Santiago de Cuba will host more than 700 Latin American artists to celebrate the Caribbean Festival.

Cuba will celebrate Tuesday the 38th edition of the Caribbean Festival where it will pay tribute to Puerto Rican culture, in which more than 240 artists, musicians, dancers, poets and craftsmen participate in the culture of Puerto Rico.

Fire Festival, as it is also known will be held from Tuesday 3rd to 9th June in the city of Santiago de Cuba, with the premise of commemorating the roots of more than 26 countries, including Venezuela, Argentina , Brazil, Guatemala and the guest from the Puerto Rico area.

During the event, which flood the Cuban streets will be carried out different cultural activities, dances, plays, singing and visual arts all represented by more than 700 invited artists.

The director of the Casa del Caribe, Orlando Vergés, explained that on this occasion the popular festival is organized in collaboration with the Committee of Solidarity with Cuba in Puerto Rico to congratulate and express solidarity and respect for the Puerto Rican people.

Also, during these seven days of celebration, will be held the workshop "Puerto Rican Pumps African and Caribbean", the traditional parade of fire and fire of the devil.

On Saturday, Puerto Rican musician Andy Montañez will present a concert with the Cuban Karachi Orchestra.

The largest in the Antilles has hosted the famous Fuego Festival since 1981, in order to praise the popular and traditional culture of the Caribbean peoples.
