A few meters away, Manatí began to be erected, also with an installed capacity of 2.2 MW and with driving technology, which streamlines the constructive work. Its installation is part of the 100 MW country program and must be completed by the end of 2018.


The electrification of isolated houses, pumping water for Irrigation and its use on dairy farms replacing steam boilers in health facilities and tourism, are among the applications of photovoltaic and thermal solar energy in Las Tunas.

By 2019, the electric company in the East Balcony plans to build three more solar photovoltaic parks, two in Puerto Padre and one in "Amancio", in addition to continuing work in the wind farms La Herradura 1 and La Herradura 2, and the preparation of a third in the area of ​​Nuevas Grandes, in the municipality of Manatí.
