The fortieth graduation of the University of Cienfuegos (UCf) took place this Thursday morning at the Theater of the University of Medical Sciences of the territory. This time, it was dedicated to the 9th Congress of the Federation of University Students (FEU), which has just ended in the capital.
479 graduates come out to work, including 277 of the course of the day, 190 of the course meeting, 9 for distance education and 3 for continuity of studies. Of the 25 courses offered by UCF, the two with the highest number of graduates were the Bachelor of Accounting and Finance with 51 and the Industrial Engineering with 52, both belonging to the Faculty of Economics and Business.
Of the 33 students who obtained gold titles, 21 received the distinction of "scientific merit", which approves their contributions, in this area, to the university itself and to the Cuban society. In addition, some 21 new professionals from other countries have graduated from UCF during the 2017-2018 academic year.
The rector of UCF, Dr. Juan B. Cogollos Martínez, urged them to "make a decisive contribution to development Therefore, they are able to use their knowledge as a leading resource in the production of goods and services. "
The cultural spaces included the performances of the choirs Canticus Novus and Cantores de Cienfuegos, the quintet Avantis and the Emsemble guitar orchestra
The meeting was chaired by Aurora Fernández González, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Lydia Esther Brunet Nordarse, member of the Central Committee and First Secretary of the CPC in Cienfuegos, and Mairelys Pernía Cordero, President of the Assembly of People's Power in the province.
