Len Kasper
Len Kasper, who was the Chicago Cubs’ play-by-play TV presenter for 16 years, will become the radio voice of the Chicago White Sox this spring, according to multiple sources.
The expected surprise announcement today follows the switch of White Sox baseball shows to WMVP 1000-AM, the ESPN sports / talk station of Good Karma Brands, in a multi-year deal finalized last month.
Kasper replaces Andy Masur in the radio booth alongside Darrin Jackson, who continues in the analyst role he has held since 2000. The White Sox were most recently broadcast on Nexstar’s WGN 720-AM news / talk. Media Group.
Kasper spent his final season with the Cubs alongside analyst Jim DeShaies as an employee of Marquee Sports Network, the regional sports network operated by Sinclair Broadcast Group and the Cubs. Chris Myers would be the main candidate to replace Kasper at Marquee.
Kasper, 49, from Mt. Pleasant, Mich., And summa cum laude graduate of Marquette University, joined the Cubs in 2005 after three years as the Florida Marlins announcer for Fox Sports Net. Previously, he called the Milwaukee Brewers games and worked as a morning sports presenter at the WTMJ in Milwaukee.
