Governor Andrew Cuomo’s cover-up of COVID-19 nursing home deaths has hidden nearly 1,900 deaths in New York City alone – with new numbers pushing the tally at a Queens facility soaring by more than 1000%.

The Post’s analysis also found that almost all of the city’s 162 nursing homes that reported COVID-19 deaths inside their walls – 152 – had residents who died after being sent to nursing homes. hospitals for treatment.
They include the Park Terrace Care Center in Corona, where only three residents have actually been killed by the virus at the facility.
But 31 other residents have died in hospitals, bringing the actual death toll to 34 – a staggering increase of 1,033%.
A Queens resident whose 72-year-old mother lives in Park Terrace was outraged to learn the numbers, calling them “appalling” and saying he had thought “maybe a handful of residents” were dead.
“I didn’t know 34 people at this facility had died,” said Anthony, 40, who was dropping off a bag of clean clothes for his mother.
“There is so much we don’t know.
Asked what he thought of Cuomo, Anthony replied, “He has misled the nation and his family members.”
Two staff members also said they were unaware that so many residents were dead, with one saying, “It’s quite shocking.”
The other said, “I just think it’s crazy. I guess the steps weren’t complete.
Close behind Park Terrace – with a 1,000% increase in its death toll – is the Rockaway Care Center in Queens.
It also killed three residents behind its doors, but 30 others die in hospitals.
The Jamaica Hospital Center, also in Queens, saw only four deaths there but 34 in hospitals.
The Post exclusively revealed last week that Cuomo’s senior aide, Gov. Secretary Melissa DeRosa, privately told Democratic lawmakers her administration withheld data on hospital deaths in August due to an ongoing investigation by federal prosecutors.
“Because then we were in a position where we didn’t know if what we were going to give to the Justice Department, or what we are giving you, what we are starting to say, was going to be used against us,” she said on Wednesday night’s video conference.
Last month, Cuomo also sparked outrage by dismissing the importance of where the deaths took place, saying, “But whatever [if they] died in hospital, died in a retirement home? They are dead.”
The nursing home in the city with the most number of deceased residents in hospitals is Manhattan’s Upper East Side Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, which has 52, nearly double the 29 who died at the facility.
Brooklyn’s Sheepshead Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has killed 51 residents in hospitals, compared to just nine in the nursing home.
At the Boro Park Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Brooklyn, 42 residents have died in hospitals, more than half of his 74 deaths.
Statewide, the total number of nursing home residents who died from COVID-19 stood at 13,407 on Saturday.
That figure included 4,181 deaths in hospitals and increased the death toll in nursing homes by 45%.
Cuomo’s office did not immediately return a request for comment.
