There have been a lot of delays in video games this year, and the latest company to report that it has experienced setbacks from the global pandemic is Studio MDHR. In one letter on social networks, founders Chad and Jared Moldenhauer told fans they should just wait until 2021 to check out “ The Delicious Last Course ” DLC for Cuphead.
In “true Studio MDHR fashion”, the team is happy with nothing but their best work and obviously meeting those high standards this year has been “extremely difficult” given the current circumstances. Rather than compromise its vision and release the additional content this year, the studio made the “difficult decision” to delay the release.
“We know many of you have been waiting to return to Inkwell Isles, and our goal is to make your return next year a truly magical trip.”
While the DLC is a continuation of Cuphead and Mugman’s great adventure, it’s also described as a conclusion and that’s why the studio wants this final chapter to be the best it can be.
In July, Studio MDHR’s Maja Moldenhauer admitted that the team “probably” announced the DLC a little too early:
“It’s taking us a little longer than we thought, but we want to make it a memorable experience. And to be honest, and I think we probably announced it a bit too early depending on when we put it on. pencil on paper – but at the end of the day we want it to be a fulfilling experience and live up to Cuphead and it’ll be out when it’s ready.
