Some over-the-counter eye drops and ointments sold at CVS were recalled because they might not be sterile.

Altaire Pharmaceuticals Inc., based in New York, has voluntarily recalled CVS Health brand products as a result of recent recall of drops of Walgreens and Walmart Store branded products and Perrigo prescription ointments.

According to the recall notice posted on the website of the Food and Drug Administration, 30 different products and various lots are included.

The recalls are referred to as "precautionary measure" and "Altar has not received any reports of adverse effects and has obtained no results inconsistent with the specifications, including sterility tests, for products. "

"The FDA has determined that these problems indicate a lack of assurance regarding infertility," says the recall notice. "The administration of a non-sterile product intended to be sterile can cause serious infections or even death.
