Starting Saturday, eligible residents in 12 other states can start reserving COVID-19 vaccines at the CVS Pharmacy.
This week, the vaccines were rolled out to CVS sites in Colorado, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nevada, Oklahoma, L ‘Utah, Minnesota and Vermont.

“We are increasing the number of active stores and expanding to other states as quickly as supply allows, with the capacity to deliver 20 to 25 million vaccines per month,” said Karen S. The expansion is part of the federal retail pharmacy program that was announced by the White House last month, stipulating that more than 40,000 pharmacies nationwide will receive doses of the vaccine to give to eligible populations.
In February, some CVS pharmacies began offering doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in 17 states as part of the program.
President Joe Biden announced earlier this month that educators, staff and educators from kindergarten to 12-year-olds should receive at least one shot of the two-dose vaccine by the end of March.
This eligible group accounted for more than 30% of appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine at CVS pharmacies between March 3 and March 10, the company said.
Separately, the pharmacy giant said its deployment of vaccines in long-term care facilities had been a “success.”
Its pharmacy teams have completed providing second doses to all nursing facilities and the third and final visits are 90% complete, CVS said. In addition, second doses of the vaccine in assisted living facilities and other facilities are 91% complete, he said.
The company administered approximately 4.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine through the Pharmacy Partnership for Long-Term Care Program, offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to facilitate on-site vaccination of staff and residents of over 65,000 registered long-term care facilities. facilities.
On Wednesday, Target began delivering doses of the vaccine to more than 600 CVS pharmacies located in its stores.
