New Jerseyens looking for a coveted coronavirus shot date will have to wait a little longer before they can try to book one at CVS sites, the company said Monday evening.
CVS said people will be able to start making appointments on Thursday February 11 instead of February 9 as originally announced. The company plans to start vaccinations on Friday February 12, spokeswoman Tara Burke said in an email to NJ Advance Media.
The company is not going to release a list of pharmacies offering the vaccine as stores will change based on vaccine availability, she said.
“Since active stores will change regularly based on vaccine supply, CVS Health will not provide a complete list of participating sites,” said Burke.
To sign up for an appointment, you can go to cvs.com/immunizations/covid-19-vaccine or you can use the CVS Pharmacy app, the company said.
“Those eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations are encouraged to use the appropriate digital channels or contact customer service to check appointment availability, rather than contacting the various CVS pharmacies,” Burke said.
For those without online access, CVS has set up a customer service line at (800) 746-7287, he said.
No walk-in vaccine will be provided.
CVS said last week that vaccines would be administered at 27 CVS sites across the state, but not all of them would be operational immediately.
The company did not list specific stores last week, but said they would be available at pharmacies across the state, including Brigantine, Edison, Elizabeth, Flemington, Green Brook, Hoboken, North Bergen, North Plainfield , Princeton, Seaside Heights, Stanhope. , Union, Voorhees and West Orange.
The CVS vaccine supply will help increase the number of doses available in the state, as they are in addition to the allowance the state receives each week.
The federal pharmacy program gives “the direct allocation (of doses) from the federal government without tapping into state supply,” Health Department spokeswoman Donna Leusner said last week.
