Some CVS sites in California and seven other states are currently selling CBD products derived from hemp.

The national pharmacy chain will market cannabidiol topical products as "an alternative source of relief," CVS said in a statement to NBC News. The chain will also partner with another company to test and verify the quality of CBD news items sold in 800 pharmacies at this stage.

Do not get me wrong – it does not mean you can stock up on brownies while buying toilet paper and shaving cream. Cannabidiol derived from hemp, known as CBD, will be sold as topical products including "creams, sprays, scrubs, lotions and scrubs," said CVS spokesperson USA TODAY Health. Edibles are not offered.

CVS was motivated by market forces and responded to customer demand, store officials said. You can check out some of the hemp products here. Other states where palliative products are available are: Alabama, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland and Tennessee, according to NBC News.

"Anecdotally, our clients have used these products, which, he says, have helped relieve the pain of arthritis and other ailments," said CVS CEO Larry Merlo in an interview with CNBC. . "We're going to walk slowly, but we think it's something that customers will look for as part of their health offer."

To be sure, you will never look at the pharmacy again.
