Cy Young winner Blake Snell on injured list after making a really stupid move at home

Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Blake Snell, winner of the 2018 American League Cy Young Award, was placed on the injured list Tuesday after suffering an unusual incident at his home.

Snell broke his toe when he got out of his shower and tried to move a granite item. He called the decision "really stupid".

"It's like a set of three pieces and this pole that goes up like a half-inch, three feet. I went to move him, I raised him, he was not stuck to the post and the post crashed, "he told reporters.

The 26-year-old southpaw was 2-1 with an average of 2.16 and one of the first 36 assists in the league before being on the injured list.

Last season, he came out of nowhere to win the Cy Young Award, recording 21 wins with an average of 1.89 points and 221 battles. He also finished ninth in the MVP vote.
