The first major patch for Cyberpunk 2077 is here. Version 1.1 promises fixes and performance tweaks across all platforms, and the official Twitter account added that it “lays the groundwork for future fixes.”
This includes February Update 1.2, which developer CD Projekt Red previously described as a “bigger, more meaningful” fix.
You can read the full patch notes here, where a number of specific quests and open-world bugs are checked, but the bulk of the update appears to be in terms of performance (with improvements to the memory usage) and stability – with known crash points fixed.

In addition to these improvements that appear in all areas, there are some fixes that apply specifically to certain platforms, described at the end of the notes. And here, it looks like PlayStation users are getting a better time than Xboxes, with the company pushing ‘for crowd optimization on PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation 5’, without such parity for Xbox One X or Xbox Series X.
The Xbox-specific patch, for its part, highlights improved memory usage at various points, but there is no word of improvements for the faster members of the Xbox family.
The size of the patch depends on your format, with the GOG version coming in at 1GB, compared to 5-9GB on Steam (likely due to different patching mechanics) and around 16GB on the console.

Cyberpunk 2077 patch reactions: good on PC and PS4
The reaction to Cyberpunk 2077 patch seems mostly positive on PC, which was already by far the best way to play it. “I literally couldn’t drive at the maximum settings before the patch, now I can drive without any issues,” wrote one Reddit user. “And these are settings that should be way above the specifications of my computer.” Another noted that without changing their settings, parts of town that went down to 25 fps now regularly stayed in the 31-35 zone. “A good improvement.”
The performance of the PlayStation also appears to be improved enough for gamers to get the thumbs up. “FPS has definitely increased and is a bit more stable, especially when driving,” wrote one PS4 Slim user with an hour of version 1.1 gaming under his belt. “For what I’ve played it was playable, but he’s still struggling a lot, but it’s a couple of steps in the right direction.”
Another PS4 Pro user (albeit with an SSD upgrade) was also impressed, noting that the actions that used to crash the game without fail would no longer do so, and the performance has improved a lot. . “It makes me realize how much of the city I didn’t see because I was actively avoiding larger areas in case it crashed.”
Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One patch: gamers are not happy
Sadly, it’s hard to find equally positive reviews of the Xbox One version of the game, with most users reporting that it looks like the same. Indeed, the video below comparing 1.06 vs. 1.1 images on an Xbox One S All Digital console doesn’t seem to show much difference at all.

Perhaps the PlayStation version was CD Projekt Red’s priority this time around, in an effort to get Sony to bring the game back to PlayStation Store after it launched last year. Or maybe the PlayStation version was just easier to optimize. Either way, first impressions indicate that the Xbox One version – at least on last-gen hardware – isn’t showing the level of improvement fans have been hoping for.
There is still time, of course. When CD Projekt Red unveiled its updated Cyberpunk 2077 timeline, the February patch was called a “bigger, more meaningful update.” Fingers crossed that all versions continue to move the game forward in the right direction – and that Xbox owners are not being left behind.
