Cyberpunk 2077 1.2 update console comparison videos highlight performance improvements, lighting changes and more

Cyberpunk 2077 1.2 update introduced, along with tons of bug fixes, performance and visual changes to consoles.

New comparison videos put together by ElAnalistaDeBits highlight the changes brought by the new update on PlayStation and Xbox consoles. For PlayStation consoles, the new update brought more NPCs to PlayStation 5, improved performance and lighting changes.

Cyberpunk 2077 1.2 update is live; Ray Tracing enabled on AMD GPUs

– There is no modification of the resolution. The PS5 version still has a single display mode (1224p @ 60fps).

– The NPC level on PS5 appears to have increased slightly, although it is still lower than the X series in this regard. On PS4 / Pro, the amount is still low.

– Performance has improved slightly. We are back to the average FPS we had before patch 1.1.

– The textures tested did not change their quality. Some texts on PS4 are still unreadable.

– Shadows now appear more blurry. I don’t know if they lost the resolution. On PS5, they are still inferior in quality compared to the Xbox series.

– Some shadows were cut in the distance (18:03). This change affects all versions. However, environmental occlusion has also been improved (18:48)

– The lighting of some interiors has been changed. In the scene of the shoot, we can see how the windows are covered (13:52). This change does not appear to affect performance.

– Personally, after testing Cyberpunk 2077 49 times on 7 different platforms, I think the PS4 / PS4 Pro versions will no longer undergo any appreciable changes in terms of performance or graphics quality. As for the PS5, we also won’t see any changes until the release of the Nextgen patch specific to that platform and the Xbox Series.

Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.2 for Xbox consoles has improved performance on Xbox One, a new fog effect, and the same lighting changes as in the PlayStation versions.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. The game will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S later this year.
