Cyberpunk 2077 Megamod essentially rebalances the entire game

Cyberpunk 2077 has now been available for over eight months, and while many CD Projekt Red fans are still waiting for more major updates to the futuristic action RPG, others aren’t as patient. As such, a recently released mod for Cyberpunk 2077 took matters into his own hands. It’s called “Full Gameplay Rebalance”, and as the name suggests, it completely reworks the balance of Cyberpunk 2077 to create what mod creator Scissors123454321 has labeled as a suitable megamod.

Brief description of scissors for their Cyberpunk 2077 megamod doesn’t fully understand the scope of their work, but it’s a good start. “Balancing, bug fixes, rework and new content for all aspects of Cyberpunkthe gameplay of. The Megamod, “is what is included in the Full Gameplay Rebalance mode in the creator’s own words. And by everyone’s opinion, Scissors weren’t overdoing it. The megamod really touches everyone. The first, and what Scissors considers most important, changes to Cyberpunk 2077 is the removal of level scaling. Cyberpunk 2077 gamers probably know that as you progress through the game it gets harder and harder. This is because at each level enemies gain health and damage on a much faster scale than the player. The end result is that players will be much weaker for much of the Cyberpunk 2077just start, with a much more balanced endgame difficulty. The removal of scaling also allows for many other interesting gameplay changes for the Endgame.

With the removal of scaling, Scissors had to start from scratch with AI balancing, which allowed them to make improvements in several dramatic ways. For starters, the megamod adds customization options for enemy HP, DPS, and randomness, for custom difficulty. As an example of a new feature, Scissors implemented enemy armor, allowing some Cyberpunk 2077 bosses, enemies and enemy types. Enemies, in general, are also stronger. They’re faster, have better aim (but more balanced damage), have smarter detection, and strengths related to their type, as androids are more resistant to headshots.

These are just two of the biggest systems to be reworked in the megamod. Scissors have also changed how armor, cyberware, explosions, food and drink, healing, melee, perks, weapons, and more work. The time spent building the mod and testing it must have been significant, but Scissors thinks Cyberpunk 2077 is a better game because of it.

What’s particularly interesting about the Scissors mod are their descriptions for most of the changes. Many of the changes are based on completely confusing decisions by CD Projekt Red like broken systems and balance issues that cannot be fixed without removing systems like level scaling. Either way, modders are here to do what CD Projekt Red can’t or may not want to do.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
