‘Cyberpunk 2077’ now costs $ 10, which includes future PS5 or Xbox Series X versions

I’ve seen Cyberpunk 2077 sales from time to time, but we’re right now in the realm of discounts for new copies of the game.

Wario64, an extraordinary offer hunter, directed me to this list at Target where physical copies of Cyberpunk 2077 for PS4 and Xbox One are now only $ 10 until this Tuesday.

This is by far the lowest price I have seen for the game to date. When it returned to PlayStation Store, it was reset to $ 50 permanently, and then went on sale for $ 33 for a while. But for a new, unused copy, $ 10 for both consoles is easily the lowest I’ve seen. And yes, like I said before, I can recommend it at this price. And yet, there is some kind of trap here.

CDPR has promised that next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 will be free, so if you spend $ 10 on that box of the game for PS4 or Xbox One, that means they’ll have to offer you a free upgrade to the PS5 and the Xbox Series. version X when released. Here’s what CDPR originally said in June 2020:

“Earlier this year, we announced that if you pick up Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One, you’ll be able to play it on Xbox Series X when the console launches,” the stream reads. “If you pick up Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4, you’ll be able to play it on PS5 when the console launches as well. And that’s not all. There will be a free upgrade for Xbox Series X and PS5, but we’ll get more. details on that soon. “

“More details on this soon” and we are now a year and a half later where the only details are that CDPR is targeting the next-gen upgrade for 2021, but there are plenty of indications that it will slide up. in 2022. But that’s not the case. matters, as they’ll have to keep their word on free upgrades every time they arrive, unless they want to dive into another fan storm.

My advice? If you own a PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, or Xbox One X, buy the game for $ 10 and play it now. You’re not going to find a lower price and at this point there are only a limited number of fixes and upgrades CDPR can make to the latest gen versions of the game. better than today (and that’s not great, especially on base PS4s and Xbox One).

But if you own a PS5 or Xbox Series X or plan to get one soon, buy that copy and then… don’t play it. For example, load it up and make sure it is installed on your system in case CDPR tries to pull a “you must have the game on your system as of this date” tip or something like that, but wait. just the free next-gen upgrade, and let this be your first experience with the game, because it will undoubtedly be much, much better.

So yes, $ 10. Despite all the problems, this is an obvious choice, if you ask me.
