Cyberpunk 2077 has long had issues with frame rate performance on consoles.
Players on the latest generation systems like Xbox One and PlayStation 4 had difficulty running the game.
With issues like low frame rate and other frustrating issues, console gamers had to sit down or play on other platforms.
However, thanks to a new report from Digital Foundry, that may just have changed.
Cyberpunk 2077 FPS on Xbox One and PS4
In a recent performance test by Digital Foundry, it was discovered that the recent Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.10 brought some useful fps improvements.
The performance test indicates that the game no longer drops below 20 fps, which was a persistent issue observed as early as update 1.02.
Testing included playing the game during busier times with additional NPCs on screen.
The frame rate remained above 20 fps, but dropped to 16 fps in the 1.02 update.
Unfortunately, this does not mean that the problem has been completely resolved.
There are still issues with frame rate drops, and Digital Foundry notes that while the game is “closer to the way [they] expected it to be at launch, “it’s” not great. “
This may make it easier for console gamers to enjoy the game, but it will not yet play the way it was originally intended to be played.
Cyberpunk update version 1.1
The most recent update for Cyberpunk 2077 is version 1.11, which is basically a patch.
The update is not intended to fix performance issues, but it fixes a groundbreaking quest bug with Takemura that started happening with version 1.10.
It also fixes issues with item randomization and other issues that the previous update highlighted.
There are still several updates coming for Cyberpunk 2077, so it’s likely we’ll see some additional FPS fixes soon.
