The U.S. vaccine czar said on Sunday that he believed Americans could start getting vaccinated against COVID-19 in about three weeks and the country could achieve herd immunity next spring.
Moncef Slaoui, who oversees vaccine development for the White House, told CNN that once a vaccine is approved for emergency use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), all 50 states will be able to begin vaccinations.
“Our plan is to be able to ship the vaccines to the vaccination sites within 24 hours of approval, so I might expect the second day after approval,” Slaoui said on “The state of the art”.
