DALLAS (AP) – Police said that a woman from the Dallas area had been murdered by her two pit bulls while she was trying to feed them at a veterinary clinic where the dogs were quarantined for an earlier attack.
Irving police announced the death of Johana Villafane, 33, of Irving on Saturday in a Dallas hospital.
According to a police statement, Villafane was at the clinic Saturday morning to feed the dogs and was in a training zone when they attacked her.
Aggressive dogs prevented medical staff from quickly reaching Villafane. A policeman shot both animals and the woman was taken to the hospital where she died.
The statement does not describe the initial bite incident that led to quarantine pit bulls.
