Dallas Cowboys: Gary Brown, RB Coach: Rookie Tony Pollard will be more than a "gadget" for the Cowboys

FRISCO – Tony Pollard can be used in a variety of ways. It can have a significant impact as a runner or as a receiver.

But do not call the Cowboys fourth round pick as a "gadget type".

"I think he has the ability to adapt to what we do," Cowboys coach Gary Brown said on Friday after the first session of the day. 39, rookie minicamp team training. "I know people think that it's going to become that gadget guy.It's more than that.It's bigger than what you think it is and it's powerful for a guy that you think is a gadget.

"I think he can do all our shopping – he can do a lot more too."

Kamara, the 67th overall pick in 2017, then made the latter two Pro Bowls one of the league's best double threat defenders.

"I would not compare myself to him, but I would just say we play the same way as him," Pollard said Friday. "Just being able to do more than one thing, queuing in the backcourt as a running half, mismatching with linebackers, scouting outfields, playing special teams."

RB sounded: RB Mike Weber left Saturday morning's practice session with a knee injury. Ohio State's seventh-round pick attended the afternoon training session, but did not participate in it. He should have an MRI.
