Dallas Cowboys: Pre-Season Stock Report

The Dallas Cowboys return to the Star at Frisco after spending three weeks in Oxnard, California, for training camp, then traveled to Hawaii to face the Los Angeles Rams for their second pre-season game.

Quick notes

Demarcus Lawrence and Tyrone Crawford were activated Tuesday on the PUP list. Both participated in individual exercises. Sean Lee also returned to practice.

Garrett suggested that Byron Jones had a slight setback in his rehab. He still has hope for him to play in the first week but his status is very debatable for the first game.

Amari Cooper remains indifferent to his foot injury which has prevented him from training in the last two weeks. "I do not worry at all, because I know that if it lasts, it does not matter – I already had 1,000 meters when I was playing previously on plantar fasciitis, "Amari told the media on Tuesday.

Ezekiel Elliott and his agent did not find the Jerry Jones owner's "Zeke who" joke very funny and actually found him "disrespectful".

Personally, I do not think this is a big problem or something that will last once they will agree to an extension of the contract. Garrett mentioned that he kept in touch with Elliott and that he had "very positive" discussions throughout the process.

Jaylon Smith and the Cowboys have agreed to a long-term extension on Tuesday afternoon. The extension is five years, $ 64 million, of which $ 35 million is guaranteed.

Smith said repeatedly during his press conference that he wanted to become a cowboy for life and that this deal will help him achieve that goal.

Store

Devin Smith

The former second round choice quickly climbed into the Cowboys' depth card at the receiver's position. Smith recorded 6 catches for 78 yards and one touchdown in two pre-season games. He has two other opportunities to secure his place in the final list of 53 men.

Donovan Wilson

Donovan Wilson was the NFL Draft Sixth Cowboys pick in 2019. He recorded an interception in the first pre-season game against San Francisco.

He continued his Hawaii run against the Rams and, when the team returned home Tuesday to train, he ended up with first team representatives against Jeff Heath.

Stock low

Mike White

This is becoming more and more likely and almost a guarantee that the Cowboys will not keep a third quarter. Mike White does not make that difficult decision. In two pre-season games, the Whites completed 16 of their 33 passes for just 117 yards on average and 3.35 yards per attempt.

Jon'vea Johnson

Jon'vea Johnson was one of the most serene stories at the beginning of training camp. In two pre-season games, he had only four catches for 39 yards despite 13 goals.

The declines were a big part of Johnsons' pre-season struggles. He has two more opportunities to make himself known before the final list is reduced.

Next step: The Cowboys will face the Houston Texans on Saturday night at the AT & T stadium.
