Dallas police on Wednesday arrested a 33-year-old man who would be responsible for the murders of at least three people, including a transgender woman.
Kendrell Lavar Lyles was charged with murder and incarcerated at Collin County Prison in McKinney. He was also considered a person of interest in the murder of another transgender woman.
Lyles reportedly killed 23-year-old Muhlaysia Booker, who was found shot dead on May 18 after surviving a crowd-like attack a month earlier. The mobile phone images of the attack showed a group of men beating it while shouting a homophobic language.

Lyles was also indicted for two shootings in Dallas. On May 22, a woman died from a gunshot wound and the next day a man was shot dead during a drug-related transaction between Lyles and him.
During the last two murders, the suspect was driving a light-colored Lincoln LS, which investigators realized corresponded to the vehicle in which Booker was seen entering the day of his murder. They also testified that they linked Lyles to the area where Booker's body was found.

Lyles was considered of interest in the death of Chynal Lindsey, a 26-year-old transgender black woman, whose body was removed from White Rock Lake on June 1 and whose deaths were similar to those of Booker, investigators said.
Investigators were investigating whether the unsolved murder of another transgender woman, Brittany White, as well as the stabbing of a fourth transgender woman, was linked to Lyles.
