The Dallas Mavericks closed their training facility Sunday morning after power forward Maxi Kleber tested positive for COVID-19, the team’s second positive test in three days, sources told ESPN.
Contact tracing is underway to determine if other players or staff will be required to enroll in NBA health and safety protocols, which means a minimum of seven days of quarantine without a positive test.
The Athletic first reported that Kleber was entering the league’s health and safety protocols.
Three key Mavericks – goalkeeper Jalen Brunson, small starting striker Dorian Finney-Smith and starting shooting guard Josh Richardson – entered health and safety protocols after one tested positive. Friday. Those players remained in quarantine in Denver, where the Mavs beat the Nuggets in overtime Thursday night.
