Damian Lillard = clutch.
Lillard is the player opposing teams will pass at the half-court line when the game is on, all to keep him from taking the big hit. Dallas had Dorian Finney-Smith – a quality defender – but how is a human going to stop that?

There were still a few buckets – and Luka Doncic narrowly missed a three that would have forced overtime – but the Trail Blazers took the win 121-118.
Lillard finished with 34 points and 11 assists, which was barely enough to beat Doncic, who finished with 44 points and nine assists.
It was a very entertaining game with a few teams trying to move up the ranks in the West. Portland had just a little more balance, getting 17 points from Gary Trent Jr. and 15 from Carmelo Anthony.
The bad news from Portland came from Harry Giles, who had overcome numerous injuries to make it to the league, but left the game with a non-contact injury. No word on details yet, but it doesn’t look good.
Harry Giles falls with what appears to be a non-contact injury to his lower left leg. He replaces Kanter and his status is currently unknown. pic.twitter.com/B1AyJaN3H7
