EXCLUSIVE: Several studios are lining up for Babylon, a scenario that Damien Chazelle wrote to make his next film. I'm told that Lionsgate, which has distributed the 14 Oscar nominees La La Land, is considered the favorite to land a project described for me as an original drama unfolding in the Hollywood period. Emma Stone, Oscar nominee for La La Land, revolves around the star. According to some sources, the film is a bold author piece with a large budget and other studios. At a time when the Hollywood box office is dominated by live sequels and reboots of Disney animated films, Chazelle's film is a breath of fresh air, something to excite leaving home to see. I expect that it will land quickly once a series of meetings is over between the filmmakers and all the studios. It's a commitment, however, and that's why the auction is methodically taking place. The film will be produced by Olivia Hamilton, Matt Plouffe and Marc Platt. Stay tuned.

Mankiewicz with David Fincher, while Gary Oldman played the scribe in a drama chronicling his battles with Orson Welles in the classic film.
Chazelle Last Realized First man, a drama that deserves another look on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the historic lunar landing. It has separately set up to produce a series of events on Apple TV.
