Dan Scavino eventually served with a January 6 House committee subpoena in Mar-a-Lago

Despite some difficulty locating him, former Trump aide Dan Scavino eventually received a subpoena from the House committee investigating the Jan.6 invasion of Capitol Hill, CNN reports. The US Marshals Service filed the summons to appear at Trump’s resort town in Mar-a-Lago on Friday. Scavino was actually at home in New York City, but a staff member accepted it for him. It is of particular interest to the House committee as it likely has valuable information on Trump’s whereabouts, communications, and actions on January 5 and 6.

Earlier this week, Scavino received a letter from Trump’s attorney urging him and other aides to ignore subpoenas or requests to testify, citing executive privilege. President Joe Biden has said he will not prevent the National Archives from handing over a slice of White House documents related to the insurgency.
