NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Was the marriage of Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner secret? So secret that even the Dan + Shay interpreters did not tell their loved ones.
"We were walking on eggs, we did not even tell our women we were going there," said Dan Smyers, country duo. "Getting to sing a song at the wedding was a big problem for us."
Jonas and Turner joined forces on May 1 at a secret ceremony at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas following the Billboard Music Awards. Dan + Shay performed "Speechless" – a song inspired by their women – and there was also an impersonator of Elvis Presley.
Actress Turner and Jonas, who are part of the pop act The Jonas Brothers, are friends with Dan + Shay and asked them to perform since they were already attending the Billboard show.
"These are the craziest hours of our lives," said Shay Mooney, the other half of Dan + Shay. "It was wild, but they are close friends and it was cool to be there for that special moment."
