Dark Phoenix's new music video could reveal new X-Men character

Warning: there is possible damage for Dark Phoenix!

Superhero movies rarely get their own theme songs these days. But when they do, you can usually expect a video clip accompanying new footage from the movie. This is exactly the case of Emeli Sandé's "extraordinary being". The video incorporates a number of scenes from Dark Phoenix, including what looks like the beginning in action of a mutant we've never seen in a X Men front film.

After two minutes, a character very much like Alison Blaire, a.k.a. Dazzler, presents himself in a forest setting. 20th Century Fox, nor the filmmakers have revealed their intention to include Alison in Dark Phoenix. However, the actress wears a white jumpsuit reminiscent of Dazzler's wardrobe par excellence during her first appearances in the Marvel Universe. She also seems to use some kind of light handling ability that echoes the mutant power of the character in comics. You can watch a video clip of the music video below.

Dazzler was introduced in Uncanny X-Men During the plot that immediately preceded the transformation of Jean Gray into Dark Phoenix. Originally, Marvel designed it as part of a cross-promotion partnership between them and Casablanca Records to capitalize on the craze for Disco. Marvel would create a singing superhero, while Casablanca would release a record of a singer using this character. The partnership was finally dissolved, but Marvel continued to develop the character. Dazzler's first encounter with the X-Men took place when Cyclops and Jean Gray infiltrated one of her concerts in order to recruit her to join their team.
