The sequel trilogy reached its climax in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, revealing the resurrected Emperor Palpatine and subtly rewriting Sith history. Now, it’s up to the various Bonds to find a way to mend the continuity and tell the many untold stories brought up in the movies.
The stream of Greg Pak dark Vador run plays an important role in this process. The story takes place shortly after the events of The Empire Strikes Back, and it basically tells about how it became possible for Darth Vader to be redeemed. Darth Vader finally learned how manipulated he was all his life, and he vowed revenge on the Emperor. It’s hot on the trail of the Emperor’s biggest secrets – and solicitations for February dark Vador # 10 suggests he’s about to uncover the ancient Sith redoubt of Exegol.

According to Marvel’s February solicitations, Darth Vader’s quest to uncover the Emperor’s secrets will take him through a realm called the Red Nebula. Mustafar’s trip to Exegol in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker passed through a red nebula, so this is clearly Darth Vader’s destination. However, it looks like Darth Vader’s journey will be a lot more eventful than his grandson’s – and it will be fascinating to see what Vader does when he discovers the Sith Eternal. The continuity here is particularly curious because Star wars novels had implicitly suggested that Palpatine only became aware of Exegol’s existence during dark times. From the novel by Chuck Wendig Consequences: the end of the empire, the emperor became convinced that a dark side bond awaited him in the Unknown Regions, which not even his apprentice could sense. And yet, according to this solicitation, Exegol is already the Emperor’s greatest secret at the time of The Empire Strikes Back – the one he may regret having discovered Darth Vader.
Meanwhile, it’s interesting that Exegol appears to have a Guardian, some sort of powerful predator who dwells in the Red Nebula. The solicitation lacks details, but it could well be a creature created by the Sith to protect their redoubt from the Jedi. It is likely that the monster will be destroyed by dark Vador, explaining its absence in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
