Darth Vader makes his first appearance in a non-Star Wars Marvel comic book

Marvel Comics celebrated today its 80th anniversary with the release ofMarvel Comics # 1000. The problem is mainly focused on the familiar faces of the Marvel Universe, but you have to make a detour to a very distant galaxy. This issue marks the first appearance of Darth Vader in a Marvel Comics title that is not a Star Wars comic.

Marvel Comics # 1000 features a one-page story for each year of Marvel's story, inspired by a landmark event in Marvel's story that year. The 1977 page is dedicated to Star wars # 1, the first Star wars comic strip, which became the first Marvel comic book since the heyday to sell over a million copies.

The story is written by the old dark Vador writer Charles Soule and drawn by Terry Dodson. It shows rebel Alliance troops examining the debris of an X-Wing who landed at Vader in the hope of killing the Sith Dark Lord. They are shocked and horrified to discover that Vader survived the impact.

ComicBook.com has checked with Marvel Comics, who confirmed that it was the first appearance of Darth Vader in a Marvel publication that was not a Star wars comic. Does this mean that the Star wars universe and Marvel universes are connected? He says "80 years, UN universe" on the cover of Marvel Comics No. 1000, but we will not read too much. After all, the Marvel universe is supposed to unfold now, while the Star Wars saga unfolds "a very, very long time ago." Even if they are connected, it would hardly matter, but your barrel head may vary.

Marvel Posted Star wars comics until 1987. The rights of the film franchise were then acquired at Dark Horse Comics, where he remained until Disney, the parent company of Marvel, bought Lucasfilm in 2012. In 2015, Marvel began to publish new Star wars comics considered, for the first time, as 100% canon with the Star wars movies.
