The other problem is its speed. Volt Switch is a good move overall, but it’s weaker than Thunder Shock, and is also very slow. This is a problem for a Pokemon like Thundurus that cannot rely on its mass to save it through several strong moves, as it makes dodging quite difficult. Players keen to dodge may find themselves waiting to use the Volt Switch in preparation for a planned charged move, which can eat away at their DPS dramatically over time.
So, do these issues make Thundurus – Therian Forme bad? Not at all. It’s still a strong Pokemon worth cultivating when it hits raids. However, players with strong shadows or a powered-on Zekrom will likely find less use in the Pokémon Bolt Strike (its actual species name, not to be confused with Zekrom’s signature attack), as its drawbacks are well-deserved. certainly to be taken into account.
