Dave Bautista is Uber, the infernal passenger of Kumail Nanjiani / Movie

You've probably had one or two annoying Uber cyclists. But it's probably nothing like the experience Kumail Nanjiani has in the upcoming comedy action Stuber.

Stuber follows a driver from Uber (Kumail Nanjiani) who inadvertently ends up being involved with deadly criminals, shootings and a fight for life. That's because a cop (Dave Bautista) uses it as a means of locomotion to find a killer.

Dave Bautista has already shown that he has impressive comedy chops with the Guardians of the Galaxy frankly, but I was waiting to show him those skills without a character who has strange traits that are funny by default. In the trailer, he clearly has a great chemistry with Kumail Nanjiani, giving them a camaraderie both improbable but solid. It has the style of an old action comedy from the 1980s or 1990s as Midnight race or 48 hours.

Our own Meredith Borders were screened for work in progress at South by Southwest (that is, it was not the final cut and she was still working in the room editing), and she said, "The laughter is huge, major, and it has a gigantic and clumsy heart in the middle. The film is made by Michael Dowse (Goon, and if), and written by Tripper Clancy.

When Stu (Kumail Nanjiani), a moderately mannered Uber driver, takes a passenger (Dave Bautista) who turns out to be a cop in pursuit of a brutal murderer, he is plunged into a terrible ordeal where he is desperately trying to hook his mind, his life and his five-star rating.
