The Giants will be in Cleveland for a pair of joint practices with the Browns which will mark their first chance to see wide receiver Odell Beckham in person since trading him in 2019.

Beckham missed last year’s game between the teams with a ripped ACL, so there wasn’t much attention on the reunion when the Browns arrived in town. However, managing director Dave Gettleman and co-owner John Mara were both asked about it during press conferences on Tuesday.

The Giants won safety Jabrill Peppers, defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence and forward Oshane Ximenes, which Mara said “will work well for both sides.” Gettleman said you need a few years to evaluate a deal and is happy with it.

“I’m happy,” Gettleman said. “We have Dexter. Ximines had his injury issues, but when he was there he showed promise. Jabrill did a hell of a job for us, so I love this band.

The Giants haven’t made the playoffs since they traded Beckham, while Beckham had a tough first season in Cleveland and missed out on the playoffs last year, so neither team got a crushing return on the case. Both sides hope a change in fortunes will follow this week’s training sessions.
