Nandi Bushell, the young multi-instrumentalist who captured the hearts of thousands after she started sharing videos of herself swinging as she played drums and screaming guitar, said immediately accepted his invitation during a video chat last week.
“When the Foo Fighters finally come back to the UK, do you think you are going to take the stage and play with us?” Grohl asked. “But it has to be at the end of the set, because you’re going to steal the show. It can’t be at the start of the set, because if you come out first, it’s just downhill from there.”
“Yes, definitely, 100%,” she replied quickly.
Their conversation also included Grohl sharing words of wisdom and telling him how he got started playing the drums.
“I really, really can’t wait to write a song with you and perform on stage with the Foo Fighters! Wow, that’s gonna be the greatest rock song of all time! Even better than the one Tenacious D wrote ! ” Bushell posted.
While it is not known when the Foo Fighters will be able to travel for concerts again, when they do eventually perform together, the two have agreed that they will both sing while Grohl plays guitar and Nandi. would play bass and drums.
“Nandi was amazed and couldn’t believe it was real,” John Bushell, Nandi’s father, told CNN. “She was hit by a star, but she played it really cool. I think Dave was a little nervous too. Nandi can’t wait to write a song with Dave. That’s the part she talks about the most. “
Nandi, from Ipswich, England, was five when she started playing the drums. She now plays a number of instruments, including bass, guitar and drums. She is also learning the piano.
