Dave Grohl recalls visiting Lemmy’s ‘disgusting’ house

Dave Grohl vividly remembers visiting Lemmy Kilmister in the Motorhead bassist’s crowded apartment in Los Angeles. “I was shocked at how disgusting it was,” the Foo Fighters frontman said in a clip from the new issue of Classic rock.

“Those aisles of magazines and VHS tapes, stacked three to four feet tall, Lemmy sitting on the couch, in her black bikini underwear with a spiderweb on it, having just dyed her hair black,” doing a phone interview, with a video game paused on television.

After the Kilmister interview, the metal legend would have offered Jack Daniel’s. “It was fucking 11:15 am,” Grohl noted. “I said, ‘Of course’.”

The songwriter also offered more… colorful… details about the undated encounter, during which they listened to a new Motorhead LP and comedy tapes from Dudley Moore.

“I will never, ever forget every little detail of that day,” Grohl added. “Especially not the black underwear, with a cobweb and a black widow spider right where the cock is.”

Grohl is a noted follower of Lemmy, having hired the musician to perform on his side project Probot and appear in the 2011 Foo Fighters video “White Limo”. Grohl also invited Lemmy on stage at a 2015 Foo Fighters concert celebrating the elder’s birthday.

More recently, Grohl revealed that “No Son of Mine”, a song from the upcoming Foo Fighters album Medicine at midnight, was inspired by the late Lemmy. “I wish that [he] were alive to hear it, because he would see how much influence he had on me, ”he said. OKAY! Magazine.

Foo Fighters premiered their 10th album, which will be released on February 5th, with the singles “Shame Shame” and “Waiting on a War”.
