Former Foo Fighter star, Nirvana, Dave Grohl had a new interview with The Guardian and responded to claims that the iconic Nirvana song It smells the arrangement of Teen Spirit was stolen from a Rick Astley song entitled "Never Gonna Give You".
Here is his statement:
"Nothing changed my life like Smells Like Teen Spirit. Let me tell you something, the day the Foo Fighters learned to play Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up, I realized that the arrangement is exactly the same! Kurt [Cobain] had a beautiful understanding of the composition in its simplicity and depth. "
Dave continued:
"We talked in the rehearsal room at volume 10 while we were playing. I knew when the worm was coming because I could see Kurt's foot getting closer disable the distortion pedal.
