Davey Boy Smith Jr. appeared in a Dark Match before SmackDown tonight.
Smith teamed up with Austin Theory to take on Odyssey Jones and Xyon Quinn (formerly Daniel Vidot). Smith was billed under his real name, Harry Smith. In another dark match, Xia Li battled Aliyah.
Originally signed to WWE in 2006, Smith was released from WWE in 2011 and has spent most of the past decade teaming up with Lance Archer as the Killer Elite Squad at New Japan Pro Wrestling, where they have won the IWGP Tag Team titles three times. Smith left NJPW in 2019 and has worked with MLW since leaving. He also attended the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony this year, where his father The British Bulldog was inducted.
Tonight’s SmackDown at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX is the first TV recording to take place in front of fans since March 2020. WrestleMania 36 in Tampa, Fla. Was the only WWE event to feature a live audience since then.
